can my father screw me over by opening an account with this company?
Basically my father heard of Forex corporations and has been "investing" money in the companies because of the "profit" one gains. I was letting him do his own thing but I recently found out from him that he opened an account with the website imoneyreserve.com and under my name. Basically he did this to get more "profit." But I am really pissed off because of that. He opened an account with that company with my name, without my permission! Can this affect me in the future? And a more important question, is this action illegal? I mentioned to him that it might be illegal that he did this and he got angry at me. I'm also angry, and worried, because if he did this who knows what else he might do by using my name and without my permission in the future. By the way, I am 18. DOes that play a role in this at all? Please Answer.
Of course it will. Not only did he give them you name, he gave them your SSN.
The IRS would expect to see any trades reported on your taxes, not his.
If you get 1099-B statements (or anything), come back and ask for advice. You'd need to attach letters to your tax return stating that it's his account. ("nominee")
